Safe Steps for Senior
DEHOFI is fortunate to have been able to help Mrs. Betty Jane Coverdale, who was recovering from on-going cancer treatments. The home where Mrs. Coverdale raised her four children was in dire need of replacing deteriorated and unsafe brick steps in the front. DEHOFI, with support from donors like you, quickly brought a contractor onsite to replace the front steps with a new and structurally sound set of brick steps to match the existing exterior of the house. DEHOFI’s contractor even went above and beyond by assisting Mrs. Coverdale, as needed, when she exited and entered her home during construction!

Your tax-deductible donation is a crucial part in providing assistance to Delawareans in need. Since 2011, DEHOFI has provided grant funding for 17 low income first time buyers, accessed more than $16,000 that enabled a local partner organization to provide financial counseling to more than 500 individuals and families, has provided funding for 56 income qualified individual or families to have essential repairs (roofs, heaters, access steps, mold removal etc.) and made a parallel grant to a local agency that works to keep low income seniors in their homes.
